Wind Turbines Provide Risky Rescue Scenarios

The job of a wind turbine technician isn’t for everyone. Doing your work hundreds of feet off the ground is hardly a typical day at the office. And with the added height comes added risk.

Robert Siegel, the director of training for Mallory (ENSA-North America), teamed up with Jeff Wild, the technical sales manager at DUES Rescue, to write an article for the February issue of Wind Systems Magazine. The piece, entitled Successful Rescues Are No Accident, does a great job of outlining proper safety procedures when accidents happen on wind turbine towers.

A wind turbine tower is a unique work environment that requires unique safety procedures. Siegel knows his stuff when it comes to climbing safety, and Mallory is glad to have him.
